i had the pleasure of listening to, and briefly meeting, Collyn Ahart at DO in wales. It was before she’d started Bowndling, but I was interested in following her progress because, as an adventurer, I am always on the lookout for nice looking, functional gear.

i had just a couple of weeks ago emailed myself a link to the Bowndling site, wondering if there was something i could write about that would be suitable for publication in the journal. i hadn’t done anything about it though, when i was asked — via a comment on one of my instagram photos — if i’d be interested in sharing a story .

my response was something along the lines of “are you kidding? i’d love to!

and an email conversation began.

in the early hours of this morning, my first adventure story was published on the Bowndling site. i chose to write about walking the tongariro alpine crossing with my husband and mother-in-law and it transported me right back to that day.
