the weekend that was

it began with plans over wine & cheese at one of our favourite local hangouts.

an early start on saturday for me – journeying to east london to do a digital printing using photoshop workshop. i learn a ton about how making just a few minor tweaks can make a massive difference to the final result of a print. we make four prints during the course of the day, my final one being the one i am most happy with (pictured above).

show & tell when i got home. nic filling me in on his day as we sit on the sofa in the conservatory looking out into the blue skies and the back yard that is almost warm enough to sit out in.

a later start on sunday – journeying again to east london to do a sourdough bread making workshop. we make a dark rye, ciabatta and bagels onsite, all using sourdough leavens. we also make the e5 bake house’s signature dough – hackney wild – and bring the leaven home for baking. we also get the recipes, a lovely e5 branded dough scraper, and some of their mother starter to bring home so we can keep baking.

another show & tell when i return home. again in the conservatory. this time ending with supper of freshly made bagels with smoked salmon & cream cheese.
