i drag myself out of bed at 6am, turn on the kettle and make coffee in the dark.
putting on yesterday’s clothes and clutching my keep cup and camerabag, i lock up the cabin and head for the car.
the destination: the cenarth mill and falls, wales. before the parking attendant arrives and asks for £2.50 just to park the car for a few minutes. before the people turn up. while the day is still waking, and the sky is still and soft.
it’s not the first time this weekend that i have found stillness near the river teifi. just me and the sound of the water rushing by.
is it just me, or does coffee taste better when consumed whilst outdoors in the still morning light?
Simply gorgeous. Well done, you! xx
yep – you really do take such great photos – I’m really proud of you. :-)
what a beautiful place ! yes, everything tastes always great outdoors
it’s a known fact that coffee consumed whilst outdoors in the still morning has magical properties. like pizza for breakfast. also. you rock! xo
Gorgeous photo, Leonie. Excellent tea for me, though ;^)
Oh god! best coffee I ever had was alone one morning, out in the wops-wops, somewhere below Mount Cook still in the grasslands on the approach. I was completely alone, with the sun just arriving. There’s nothing better than that first cup of coffee outside alone :-)
Coffee outside is always good…. though usually for me that means on my balcony or the sidewalk. I have never had good coffee further afield, as when we camped Andy used to offer up instant coffee which never had quite the same effect…. Your morning sounds beautiful though and I love how you just got straight to it, no procrastination, just went where you wanted to go. Lovely :)
