I’ve got at least three adventure stories sitting in my drafts folder waiting to be shared with you.

Until they’re ready, here’s a little musical interlude.

Me, Nic, Natalie and 2,300 strangers singing Sway by Bic Runga.

This video is from last Thursday when me and Nic joined our friend Natalie—and 2,300 other people—at the civic for a sold-out pub choir event.

Our music arranger, teacher and conductor was the incredibly talented, energetic and hilarious Astrid Jorgensen.

In the space of an hour she had us sorting ourselves into three groups based on our vocal range and we’d all done a run through of our part of the harmony. In the second part of the evening we sang the song twice through from end to end. This is what you see on the video.

Initially Nic and I had thought we’d sneak out at half time as the ferries in the evening are infrequent. We were both having too much fun to do that though and we're so glad we stayed. It was a super fun evening and we’re intending to get tickets every time Astrid brings pub choir back to Auckland.

(She might be coming to a city near you. You can check the schedule here)
