walking in the rain

i had to venture out in the rain today.
trudging this way and that under the cover of a borrowed umbrella.
birkenstocks getting more sodden by the minute, turning my feet and the underside of my jeans green.
after giving myself a bit of a talking to and getting over the fact that i seemed to be getting nowhere fast…
i decided to slow down to enjoy it instead.
all the greens looked greener in the rain.
