we don’t usually go to toast nz events as they have a reputation for ending up full of drunk nz’ers; however we were attracted to this event because we would be spending it in fine company.
going with such fabulous friends definitely was the highlight of the event.
other highlights included: the polo (england vs. nz which sadly we lost by one goal)
the ngati ranana maori culture group (singing songs i knew the words to, and doing lovely poi)
and the feelers – who came all the way from new zealand just for us
Well, didn’t that just look like a barrel of fun!!!
And … Ngati Ranana maori culture group have performed on Flanders Fields more than once. We love them.
oh how i want to play with you!
Looks like such a fun day out ~ & the weather co-operated too! Of course, I got the giggles about the pie. I can never quite understand the fascination. Especially when you could be eating those fantastic green lip mussels!
Have a nice, relaxing Sunday :)
Oh god! I haven’t had a pie in 6 years. I almost fainted over your photograph, not expecting it. And Lamingtons!!! It’s been 100 years surely, since the last one. They don’t have sponge here in Belgium.
Glad you guys had an excellent day though … :-)
the pie and the wine did it for me. oh and the pretty girls doing handstands too ;-)
OK, educate me – whats a lamington and what on earth is chur all about?
