these are the things i want to remember: how dining out here on a friday night feels more personal because we know the chef + how the light moving through our house never fails to stop me in my tracks + how making coffee together and taking it back to bed on a saturday morning feels like luxury + how asking for what we need results in the community providing it (like waratahs and clear-lite that we needed to build our wood pile) + how much better pesto tastes when it’s fresh + how fun it is to make stuff (like pizza) from scratch + and also how much fun it is to sit and play a board game at the table (even when there’s only two of us) + how the movie ‘clue’ had an amazing cast but still wasn’t interesting enough for either of us to watch without falling asleep on the sofa + how nice it was to be surprised with a bottle of sake by my husband + how walking, when i have to take a break from running, can result in shared experiences of a different kind + how good it was to eat lunch outside at one of the vineyards + how sunday afternoons, on the sofa with a warm fire & a happy cat & a husband beside me, is really all (really, all) that i need.
hoping your week and weekend was amazing in it’s own special ways

Wow the green, the green, the green… am just drinking it in! wonderful details on the wood – am dreaming of having a large piece of driftwood sculpture in my backyard one day. And is that a hummingbird nest? Sounds like an amazing weekend, so laid back and lots of time to get rejuvenated! Lovely!
hi love, yes – the green here is intoxicating.
we don’t have hummingbirds here, it will probably be the nest of a little silver-eye i’m guessing.
it was a wonderful weekend for sure. hope yours has been amazing too
