today's garden visitors

working away at my desk after lunch, i heard quacking outside, accompanied by a lot of tiny peep-peep-peeping noises.

one of the local ducks had wandered in from somewhere at the back of our section (we have wetlands nearby), bringing her 8 little babies with her.

she followed me from the studio to the house where i filled a shallow plate with water and threw her a couple of handfuls of bird seed.

they were quite happy having a snack and a drink, then they all flopped down amongst the daisies for a tiny nap before heading off again.
